Spisebaren

Efter en lidt for vild weekend med skuffende mad-mæssige oplevelser ( Tight Eatery lørdag, og brunch på Granola søndag - begge skuffede fælt!), bestemte jeg mig for en dag med julehygge og shopping med den lille. Det bragte os blandt andet til Illum hvor vi besluttede os for at spise frokost hos "Spisebaren" på øverste etage.



Jeg bestilte smørrebrød: Anderillette med svampe og krydderurtesalat og gravad okseinderlår med jordskokkecreme og citronskal. Den lille fik spaghetti bolognese, og æbletrifli til dessert.
Anderilletten var ikke helt som jeg mener anderilletter er flest (cremet, fuldstændigt nedbrudt andekød), men indeholdt i stedet store stykker and.


Den smagte dog ganske udmærket. Det andet smørrebrød faldt dog ikke lige i min smag - citronskallen virkede lidt malplaceret, og passede ikke helt sammen med de andre elementer.
Jeg sneg mig også til at smage den lilles spaghetti bolo, og den var VIRKELIG god. God fyldig smag med store stykker oksekød i blandt det småthakkede oksekød. Hun spiste da også mere end hun længe har gjort.


Æbletriflien faldt også i god jord hos hende. Den var simpel, men rigtig lækker. I virkeligheden bare en opdateret version af den gammeldags æblekage som jeg kender så godt fra min barndom i nordjylland, med kogte æbler, vaniliecreme, makroner og et lille drys af lakrids. Alt i alt en okay oplevelse, til meget fornuftige penge (lidt over 300 kr med latte og vand).




After a weekend with to many cocktails, and disappointing food-experiences (Tight Eatery Saturday, and Granola for brunch Sunday - both very disappointing!), I decided to take the little one on a cosy Christmas shopping day in Copenhagen city. We ended up in Illum, and went to the top floor for lunch in "Spisebaren". I ordered two pieces of danish "smørrebrød", one with rillettes de canard served with mushrooms and a herbsalad, the other a with beef served with a creme of jerusalem artichoke and lemon peel. The rillette de canard was not as I expected, a creamy completely unravel duck, but instead big, hard pieces of duck meat. The flavour was though okay. The other piece of bread didn´t taste me. The lemon peel seemed odd, and out of place against the other elements of the dish. 
The little one had a classic spaghetti bolognese, and what a great one! It was rich and full of flavour with large pieces of tender beef in between the minced meat. Wish I had had a dish of that! For dessert she had an apple trifli. Simple but very good. Basically just an updated version of the oldfashioned apple-cake my mom used to make me when I was younger. Stewed apple, vanilla creme, macaroons and a hint of powdered liquorice.
The meal was all around a okay experience, and best of all not that expensive. I paid just above 300 dKr including a latte and water.
